Ted Ginn (Glenville HS, Cleveland, OH) caught a career-high 10 passes for 122 yards. His 57-yard score was the junior's 18th career play covering at least 50 yards. Also leading the way in the Buckeyes 35-7 win vs. Bowling Green was RB Antonio Pittman (Buchtel HS, Akron, OH) who carried 13 times for 61 yards, and scored on two 8-yard runs. Ohio State stretched the nation's longest winning streak to 13 in a row. Craig Davis (O. Perry Walker HS, New Orleans, LA) led LSU with 8 receptions for 85 yards in their 23-10 loss to Florida in the swamp. DeSean Jackson (Long Beach Poly HS, Long Beach, CA) led No. 16 Cal to a 45-24 victory over 11th-ranked Oregon on Saturday night. Jackson caught a 36-yard touchdown pass and returned a punt 65 yards on one of the most electrifying plays of the season for another score. In total, Jackson touched the ball 6 times for 162 all-purpose yards. Freshman Dominique Douglas (Murray-Wright HS, Detroit, MI) continued his impressive play in Iowa’s 47-17 victory over Purdue. Douglas posted a career best 90 receiving yards on 4 catches. William Franklin (Vashon HS, St. Louis, MO) paced Missouri’s well balanced offense with 5 receptions totaling 90 yards in the Tigers’ 38-21 defeat of Texas Tech. Amir Pinnix (Shabazz HS, Newark, NJ) accounted for 98 all-purpose yards and 2 TD’s in Minnesota’s 28- 27 OT loss to Penn State. On the opposing side of the ball, Jay Alford (Orange HS, Orange, NJ) had an impressive game for the Nittany Lions. The senior recorded 7 tackles, 3 Tackles for Loss, and 1.5 sacks. In Thursday night’s ACC match up between Florida State and NC State, Senior Garland Heath (Glades Central HS, Belle Glade, FL) played a strong defensive game recording 6 tackles and forcing a fumble leading the Wolfpack in a 24-20 upset over the ‘Noles. Dowayne Davis (Columbus HS, Bronx, NY) led the Syracuse defense with 9 tackles and a forced fumble in their 21-11 loss to Pittsburgh. Cory Boyd (Orange HS, Orange, NJ) posted 174 all-purpose yards and a touchdown in South Carolina’s 24-17 win over Kentucky. |
