| | Student Athlete of the Month Each month Play It Smart schools recognize a student-athlete of the month. This student-athlete of the month is an individual who has achieved on and off the playing field. These are the student-athletes for the month of September. Don't see your school represented? Make sure you honor a student-athlete for the month of October. From the student-athlete of the month pool, Play It Smart will elect one student-athlete as the Play It Smart National Co-Captain. The Co-Captain best personifies excellence in the classroom, on the field, and in the community.

| | Play It Smart Welcomes New Coaches Earlier this week Play It Smart welcomed a few new Academic Coaches to the family. These coaches took part in a training conference held in Irving, TX. The small size of the group gave the coaches plenty of one-on-one time with the Play It Smart staff. Kevin Malonson from the Dallas Princeton Review provided the coaches with excellent tools and tips to help them get their students prepared for the ACT, SAT, college admissions, and other opportunities. "The conference armed me with vital tools and resources that can be utilized...I am ready to put to those tools to use," said Derrick Johnson (Academic Coach at Woodlawn Magnet in Birmingham, AL.) | | We Need Your Input We want to know what is happening in your neck of the woods.
